Our Programs

Nursery (8 weeks - 2 years)

Nursery (8 weeks - 2 years)

We believe children in the Nursery Room should feel relaxed and happy in a trusting, warm and friendly environment. We endeavour to be consistent with all children, allowing them to progress developmentally in a secure setting. Our particular aims are to encourage children’s independence and to provide support and information to parents.

Toddler (2-3 years)

Toddler (2-3 years)

In the Toddler Room, staff aim to create an atmosphere that promotes happiness, security and respect for others. Staff like to provide a balance between independence and security by having specific limits at times and allowing freedom to make choices at other times. In this way, children have a foundation from which to grow in all areas of development.

Pre Kinder (3-4 years)

Pre Kinder (3-4 years)

This age group are naturally driven to develop and explore their independence and learning. Our educators develop programs that allow children to learn through play-based experiences whilst also encouraging learning about themselves and the world around them. This program equips your child for their transition to kindergarten and formal learning.

Kinder (4-5 years)

Kinder (4-5 years)

In this final stage of the foundational years, children can benefit from being enrolled in a school readiness program. Our program focusses on building children’s social emotional understandings and the knowledge and skills which will support them through to school and beyond. We balance curriculum and play based learning to ensure children have every success as they transition to school.

Our Activities

Excursions

Excursions

Our close proximity to Heide Museum, Banksia Park, Bulleen library and local Primary schools allows for spontaneous walks and visits to occur as part of our ‘Active Participation’ Program. This involvement builds children’s connection to, understanding and respect for the natural environment and the community within it.

Music Teacher

Music Teacher

A qualified Music teacher conducts the program daily to be flexible and respond to individual learning styles and interests and is drawn from a range of cultural backgrounds, which enables children to perform, sing, dance and explore sound. We value the importance based on research, that active music making leads to valuable brain stimulation and supports many aspects of development. Children’s innate musical interest and early musical interactions builds upon our strong relationships and musical communities.

Emergent Play

Emergent Play

An emergent play based teaching program is inspired by children’s needs and interests in a stimulating environment that owes much to the Reggio Emilio and Montessori approach of learning.

Physical Environment

Physical Environment

Our centre is fortunate to offer a large outdoor space surrounded by natural trees, shrubs, vegetable gardens, and an iconic ‘Birds Nest Cubby House’ designed by Ted Bailleau.

Art Program

Art Program

Participating in the arts isn't just about being creative. An arts rich program in early childhood builds fundamental skills which will be useful right through life. Early years arts activities can help children make sense of their cognitive, physical, emotional, spiritual, linguistic, and moral development. Early childhood arts activities can significantly strengthen parent-child bonds and engage families in their children's learning, providing a positive focus for shared experience and communication.

Safety & Wellbeing

Safety & Wellbeing

Creative Play Early Learning Centre is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Our centre community recognises the importance of, and a responsibility for, ensuring our centre is a safe, supportive and enriching environment which respects and fosters the dignity and self-esteem of children and young people, and enables them to thrive in their learning and development.
